In the heart of the United Arab Emirates, where the desert meets the sea, Archid Studio has unveiled a stunning new villa that embodies the essence of its natural surroundings. Guided by the vision of Project’s Chief Designer Dmitry Soloviev, the villa seamlessly integrates the natural elements of stone, sand, and water, creating a harmonious living space rooted in local identity.

"The local nature and the local climate inspired us. So, we used three main natural materials: stone, sand, and water," said Soloviev. "These three natural elements are reflected in every bit of the project, being key elements of our concept."

The villa's design is a blend of traditional and modern elements, utilizing local materials to craft a unique architectural experience. The brutal stone, prominently featured on the side facades, serves a dual purpose. Not only does it create a private, intimate environment, but it also offers a protective barrier, encapsulating residents in a secure and serene space.

"Private space for our residents with these marvelous stones," Soloviev explains.

In contrast, the slatted facades of the villa, with their open and airy design, draw inspiration from the flowing shapes of the sand dunes that are characteristic of the region. This thoughtful incorporation of sand-like elements adds a sense of fluidity and movement to the structure, blending the indoors with the outdoors.

One of the villa's standout features is its rooftop pool, a nod to the UAE's rich maritime heritage.

"We happened to have a rooftop pool, and we thought it was a great idea to go with that because water is another important natural resource of local identity, that we love and respect," said Soloviev.

This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the villa but also provides a refreshing oasis that celebrates the region's connection to the sea.

Archid Studio has implemented several sun protection techniques to ensure the villa is as climate-friendly as it is beautiful. Deeper loggias and terraces provide ample shade, while the slatted facades act as natural sun blockers, reducing heat and creating comfortable living spaces throughout the year.

"These natural elements resemble the local identity of the UAE, for us. The beautiful sea, the desert, and the mountains, are the water, sand, and stone that we used as major design elements." Soloviev emphasizes.

This philosophy is evident in every aspect of the villa, from the materials used to the design choices made. By incorporating these natural elements, Archid Studio has created a space that not only reflects the beauty of the UAE but also honors its cultural and environmental heritage.

The villa is a testament to Archid Studio's commitment to sustainable and locally inspired design. By thoughtfully integrating stone, sand, and water, they have created a residence that is visually striking yet compliments its environment. Through this project, Soloviev and his team have demonstrated that true innovation comes from embracing and celebrating the natural world around us.
